VICTOR (BOB) RUDD

New Zealand's last WWI Veteran, Victor (Bob) Rudd has died in Greymouth on Sunday 20th November 2005 aged 104. He was in a British Army cavalry unit, the 9th Lancers, in 1918. Born in London on 28 April 1901, he migrated to New Zealand in the 1920s, where he worked on the long Otira rail tunnel.
The last New Zealand Army (New Zealand Expeditionary Force or NZEF) veteran was Bright Ernest Williams who died at Havelock North, Hastings in 2003.
