ACKNOWLEDGMENT

To-night you hear this Band in its first public performance.  Many of the Pipers and Drummers commenced training some months ago absolutely in the raw, and the Committee seeks your indulgence in presenting them tonight.  Our thanks is expressed to the patient members who have trained them (Messrs Ken Cleaver, H Milsom, R Brunning and Bob MacFarlane) so far, and we think, so successfully.  To the bandsmen also goes warm thanks for the way there have persevered.

Public support has been warmly accorded and encouragements offered through this wearying period.  The Pipers purchased their own instruments and the drums were received from subscription.  This committee hopes to complete the job, with your help, by setting the Band up in uniform.

To the organisers, performers and workers, we extend grateful thanks for this concert.  The programme in your hand was made possible by the generosity of the advertisers.  To all who co-operated with such enthusiasm GRATEFUL THANKS.
