CHARLES BROWN
NEW PLYMOUTH
TESTIMONIAL
MAY 1865

From the Taranaki Herald 27 May 1865 p2 - Volume XIII, Issue 669.

TO HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT, CHARLES BROWN Esq
Sir
We the undersigned Electors of New Plymouth, having heard with deep regret of your determination not to come forward again for re-election, beg to express a hope that you will reconsider your decision, and allow yourself again to be nominated at the approaching Election as Superintendent of this Province.
We are fully sensible of the difficulties and responsibilities you have had to encounter during your term of office, and we are satisfied that the zeal and ability you have shown in your administration of affairs connected with the Province has tided us through difficulties of no ordinary character, and for which you are entitled to our best and warmest thanks.
Should you decide upon complying with our wishes, we shall use our utmost endeavours to secure your return, believing that there is not any person in the Province so well qualified, or better deserving our confidence than yourself.
Signed
